Project 50: A Beautiful Surprise for Pam & Ray’s 50th Anniversary

Some projects just tug at your heartstrings, and Project 50 was one of those unforgettable moments. My amazing client Christa reached out to me with a heartfelt mission — to surprise her parents, Pam and Ray, as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 4th, 2025.

Christa had planned every detail, and the surprises just kept coming. One of the biggest? Her brother flying in to join the celebration, completely catching Pam and Ray off guard. But the true showstopper was at the historic, classic Tivoli Theater in downtown Downers Grove.

My role? To be the sneaky photographer hidden inside the theater, pretending I was just there to watch a movie. But I had a secret mission — to capture every raw emotion when Pam and Ray saw the 15-minute video Krista created, filled with love and memories from friends and family. As the video played on the big screen, the tears, laughter, and joy were absolutely magical.

Afterward, we captured family photos inside the theater, in the charming lobby, and of course, under the iconic Tivoli sign outside. Every frame spoke of love, connection, and the incredible journey of 50 years together.
